  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2.2kOhm....and not 2.2Ohm

Is 2.20 Ohm a typo? It should be 2.2k Ohm, not 2.2 Ohm. Any blinking lights on your dash? Doesn't run right even with a full tank of gas?

Sorry JLK...it's 2.2kOhm....and it ran like doo doo even with a full tank. :excuseme: The guys at GP Cycle said..."partial fuel filter clog"

I just checked my 2 day old 2010 smr510 and it has the solid air filter support! I have been dissapointed in the performance thus far maybe the torque making filter cage is caging all of my hp? I am getting the open one reguardless.

I don't know for sure about the 2010s or the SMRs in general, but I'd have thought they would need powering up the same as the 09 TEs, so worth checking that the other things mentioned earlier in this thread have also been done. Swapping to the more open filter cage is certainly one thing to do, but there could also be a throttle restrictor to remove, cat and O2 sensor to remove from the exhaust, etc. On the 09 TEs for the UK, all the power-up bits you need, such as the more open filter cage and a bung for the hole where the O2 sensor used to be, came in a box with the new bike so there was nothing you needed to buy. Powering up does make a very noticeable difference so if it's not been done it's no wonder the bike didn't feel so good. Husky Sport where I bought my TE did the power up for me before initial delivery.

Resister is in place of the o2 and the stop is removed. The dealer shipped the filter holder this morning. He said he thought it was all set and had it in there. Not sure what he thought the extra one was..

Don't forget that Husky engines and suspension take about 500 miles (or more) to free up. You particularly notice it in the really tough ST, the bike just stops stalling and the ruts etc. can be attacked harder without breaking your teeth. Open her up and get rid of all the restricting BS, then go ride, they are a great machine.
