Okay, first the good news. spent some gas riding dirt today, first time since April 06, had a blast riding through small mud pit's & fast (4 me) loose gravel, hill climbs & descents, single track, double track, & wide track
. Many of the things I was afraid of before today, were much easier & natural for me than I expected. No falls, took it easy, thought the suspension was great
I'm happy.

Only problem, besides riding like a total noob was low speed flameout. To the point where I killed the battery & had to kick start it. Thank God it's easy to kick, I honestly thought there was no way I was ready to kick the Big Bad Wolf. But it started right up & that was the end of my dirt riding day.
I know I'm geared too tall. 15\48 + a TerrorFlex. I'll jack up idle from 1500 to 17 or 1800 for my next dirt trip.
Even though there were frequent flameouts, there was enough time between them that I didn't think I'd run down the battery, but I did.
After kicking it to life, riding straight to my riding partners truck & having a smoke, the E-start started it right up.
So would it be considered a heat soak problem, or a battery problem?
P.S. it's the original 06 battery & has been flawless.
P.S.S. I'm so damn happy to have ridden in the dirt again after so long

:ride:
P.S.S.S. That Terrorflex is not lacking in traction, anywhere!!. Near the end of my riding I intentionally tried to spin that beast in axle deep clay based mud pit's & it just takes off like a rocket. me likey

more like my first dirt ride since 1983. I'll look into a new battery soon, after my laid up time, worked just over a month & got laid off. Luckily I got called yesterday to come back Monday night, so as funds build up again, I can get some more Husky goodies.
