  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

511 Dyno Tuned

Yes me too. These bikes are way to lean, which makes them run hot and not pull like they should,
a PCV, map3, plus getting rid of the catylitic converter muffler not only let's the bike run cooler, run
as designed before being dogged down by smog controls. Most of the mods that a lot of us do are just to
let the bike run like its supposed to, my bike with a PCV, $300, an FMF $300, allows my 511 to putt through single
track without a thought of flameouts/dying, runs cooler, and all things being equal, should last longer.
It's no different than the the jet kit I put in my DRZ because it lean surges due to EPA requirements.
More horespower is just a result of efficiency. I am no racer, anymore, at 58, I just want them bike to
run just like you seamless, easy starting, the snappy power is nice though, it will loft, that front wheel
over a log with the flick of my wrist, or surprise some kid on a CRF450 at track days. It really is just boys
playing with their toys, if your happy with it that's the goal. Suspension, handguards etc, we're the
first things I addressed.

Actually, Malcolm shipped your used 511 to our shop where we removed all your add-ons and returned the bike back to stock form before shipping it back to Malcolm. Just saying.
It was too fast and powerful the way I traded it in . Probably a big liability with the panniers and valve cover breather :) just saying... I feel sorry for the next guy who takes the big oil filter cover off , other than that can you send me my roto pax setup lol
