• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

610 aftermarket gas cap

i have had my alum cap for a few years now without any problems. i believe it will resolve the issues you describe. i havent had the weeping through the cap happen before or after the alum cap install. one issue i had was the two "breather" hoses on the front of the fuel tank dripping alot. with the vent on the cap i have eliminated the dangling hoses that would drip fuel on my pipe.i was able to take a couple of extra husky bolts(the m6x1, 8mm hex) and plug them right up. also i think it looks much better without the extra stuff hanging there. hope this was helpful. i will include bolts to eliminate the hoses in front with the cap.

Bronzebronco thanks for responding. Sign me up for red.

some progress has been made! little by little were pluggin away! GOPR0175.JPGGOPR0176.JPGGOPR0177.JPGGOPR0178.JPGthis will be the base for the cap. need to mill the profile and poke holes.

Happy Friday! Its been a little while since weve made any progress on the project. But im glad to say that the machine work is complete! Ive got a few quotes out for bid on the anodizing. We will be doing black and red. So far ive got in for 5 for red, and 10 in for black. Ive included some pics of the caps where we are now. Im hoping to have a final price next week, and we can talk shipping and blah blah blah. GOPR0203.JPGGOPR0204.JPGGOPR0210.JPGGOPR0200.JPG

Lookin' great Brandon! 5 sets of Red might be pretty spendy considering most Anodizers min. color batch charge ($60 and $85 at our two local places). Red would sure look good, but I'm fine with black if red turns out to be too impractical.

Great job on the parts my friend! Have a nice weekend.

I'd love one of these in black. Once you finalise price, please let me know postage to Australia. Cheers mate!

Without further delay, here is what we have and where we are at! I have 15 sets in black ready to go. im still waiting for the 10 red sets to get in. im expecting another week on those. i have had the prototype on my bike for three weeks now. in almost 400miles and alot of on and off for fill ups, i can say that im satisfied with the result. no leaks, and easy to use. spent alot of time on the back tire and even laid the bike over for hours looking at the clutch. No problems! DSCN1943.JPGDSCN1945.JPGDSCN1949.JPG as i mentioned before, the price will be in the $100 neighborhood. i still need to hammer out the all the costs. ill get to that once the red ones get back. here are some pics of what youll get and what it looks like on the bike.

Just in! Here they are! Very nice looking color anodizing! Everything is finally ready to go! A couple of new pics to make mouths water! Threw a red cap on my SM and its stayin. It matches the new Sliders nicely! Im digging the two tone look! Does everyone who wants one have paypal? that will be the easiest way to complete payment. The final price will be $120 for the complete kit shipped(mainland US). we can talk other shipping options if necessary. PM me!!! and lets get rolling with these!DSCN1950.JPGDSCN1951.JPGDSCN1954.JPG
