• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I am going to check my cam chain tensioner and make sure all the gears under the right hand engine cover are tight so I don't sheer a woodruff key. I heard how easy it is to check the cam chain tension, but I don't want to end up like I did after trying to adjust my front fork's compression.

From what it looks like, all you have to do is remove the center larger bolt, then the two smaller bolts and pull it out. Is there anything else I need to make sure of? Engine cold, etc?

The clutch basket also looks like it is in the way of the nuts I need to check under the RH engine case. Can I remove this by taking out the 6 bolts on the outside of the clutch? I assume I will have to torque the clutch back to a very specific figure, anyone know what it is?

I appreciate any help.

No bites on the sale I take it? Last week I could have shown you all that stuff as I had it all apart but just buttoned it back up.

Next week is looking a bit busy, but after that if you want to bring it by the DAG after halloween we can throw it on a lift and check everything out in a couple of hours one evening.

Feeling any vibes or is it all preventative? I was getting a little bit, turned out to be the upper engine mount but I checked the woodruff keys anyway.

I was just being cautious- Don't want to be 1000 miles from home and break something. If you do know someone who is interested in the bike...
