• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

610 fork play and comp adjusters

Husqvarna
A Class
I have a 2008 TE 610. When the bike is off the ground and I grab the bottom of the fork legs and move them back and forth there is a little movement in them. Does anyone elses do the same or are they worn out already. I don't have many miles on the bike. If so, what parts do I need to fix this.

Also, if I have to fix this I want to put in the comp adjusters that it didn't come with. Where can I get these adjusters from?

Loosen top clamp bolts, top nut, tighten castelated nut just under top clamp until that movement is gone. Check that the froks still turn easily, back and fourth, blue loctite on top crown nut. torque top pinch bolts to 14 ft lbs. Your done.

If it ratchets while turning the bars race is dinged have to replace it along with bearing.

A little movement in the forks is normal. You do not want any in the head bearings though. As for the compression adjusters we have them in stock. Email me and I'll get you some. (Motosportz)

The movement is in the fork legs with the weight off the bike and the forks extended. The tripple clamps and head bearing are tight. There has been movement I think since I got the bike. I have had other bikes with no play that is why I thought maybe there was something wrong.

I second this. ????

The WPs on my KTM do this a little and that is with brand new bushings. I second adding the clickers regardless as it is relatively inexpensive to do.
