• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

74 Mag

I would hate to see chain chew marks on the top of that nicely painted swingarm. I have had to weld some up from previous owners.

The chains do rub on the swing arm of these bikes. Was there a slider that cam stock on these ? I check my Mag and sure enough Ihavd chain marks in my swing arm.

Its probably not on there when the pic was taken. You can either take a strip on heavy duty rubber, or a strip of an old serpentine belt, wrap it around the front of the swing arm and hose clamp it in place.

CNTYMNTY,

Could you take a close up photo of your rear wheel axle spacer setup. I can't seem to get the right pieces for both inside on the wheel for both sides and what goes on the outside of the swing arm.

Oldnslo, here you go. The pics came out kinda dark, so I attached the schematic from my book. Hope it helps. ruwfo, the pegs came off a mid to late 70's husky, then I welded on the wrap around teeth. The shifter and peg add on's are from DC Plastics.

Thank you very much. I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to do that for me. It help me allot. I was able to get it together correct..

Cntymnty, I need a new clutch pack for my mag. Can I ask what you use and where I should go to buy? Need both steeliness and fibers ...it's toast...

My clutch was put in by the guy that rebuilt my bottom end. I know he used Barnett. I looked at their web site a while back and they have the 74 mag listed.
