As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
www.husqvarna-parts.com has new Magura kill switches that would be a direct replacement for what you have and still cost less than using one off one of the japanese mx bikes. I would go new over used for something like a kill .switch just because I want it to work when I need it.Getting things in the build going again I installed the coil and regulator from the new Powerdynamo kit. I have the original Motoplat kill switch but the cover is torn. Are there replacements of these available? I'm going to fix it with some black silicone caulk.
I also got the refurbished carb on. Looks way better than before with all new parts.
Thanks I'm enjoying it tooenjoying your build!

I have been using Venhill Cables nearly all by biking life. The only time I didn't, I regretted it !!!
They are good. Not sure if it applies to your 77, but the 78's have a choice of CR or WR front cables. Make sure you get the right one if you are running a front light and speedo !
76 and 77WR are the same 77 and 78 cr are different from 77WR sI called Venhill and talked to the rep out of Austin TX.
They are made in England and all have stainless cable with teflon liners so they seem to be good quality.
I ordered all three for a 77WR250.
One good thing is they give the option of black or grey sheathing so I picked grey to match the stock ones.
I also checked out Terrycable but they don't have anything for Husky listed.
