It's been a few months since my last update. I finally got the tank painted and final assembly work done except for connecting the ignition wires and filling the gearbox and mixing fuel/oil. I got a little made in Sweden decal off ebay for the tank but I'm not sure where it goes.

Btw I did some searching on the gearbox oil which is supposed to be SAE20 but a lot of guys are using ATF.
3in1 makes a 20wt machine oil. Is that ok? I’m confused.

briggs and stratton oil is 20 wt and atf - f the borg warner oil is close and works ok. change atf regularily

If I use ATF-F like how regularly should it be changed? I found a straight 20 weight non detergent at Tractor Supply.
ATF is way easier to find than 20wt

I used to ride there all the time in the late 80's early 90's. It's changed a lot with restrctions and of course the state of CT extorting for registration fees.
It's one of the few places left around CT. I'd be up for a meet up.

depends on riding i guess, but if i do a big event of several hundred k's or so then i will change it out. happy to leave it in for half a dozen 2hr afternoon sessions.

Heres the placement of that sticker on a stock 75 360cr, between the triple clamp and the tank cap. Your bike will be in the same general area.

It's May 5 2081 and I finally got it started today.
I got a rebuild kit for my petcock but it's leaking and I think the car is leaking too.
I decided to go for it anyway. The third kick it started and I drove it around the block.
I was stoked
I need to fix the leaks but it was awesome!

Yeah the stock karcoma petcocks can be a bugger to rebuild. I've found that the kits provided by the bing agency and others are for a later model Karcoma that has a thicker rubber gasket that requires modifying.

If you want a quick fix order one of these $19.95 fuel valves until you get the time to get the stock one working. Fuel leaks can provide a lot of unwanted excitement when mixed with a source of heat.

I don't care how authentic you decide you want to be. Things like fuel petcocks, kill switches, etc. are safety items. If stock isn't cutting it, no harm in modernizing these.
