As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
Hi Michel, Thank you for the reply, I checked Husqvarna -part.com web site but only found the 1980 and later WR rear fenders. The 79's were the older style for the 79 and earlier frame that has the tall round rear frame loop. I did email them to see if he has the fenders but not pictured. Still waiting for his reply.
The 78 wr rear fender is a falk ?
My 2 autos are waiting the springtime.
Send pics of your 78 390 amx.
Michel
Thank you, I looked there also but he does not sell them.
I looked at all the DC plastic rear fenders and they don't have it either. I hope I don't have to but I may need to take the one off of my 79 250WR to have them make copies.Try DC plastics
The 78 and 79 rear fenders are different. One is for the ML frame, and one for the MM.
Fibreglass rear falk fenders for the ML framed WR's are available in France. I know of no other manufacturer making them at present. The Husqvarna Falk (ML) WR's shape is unique. There are other Falk plastic replica's out there with the correct shape at the rear. But the curve of the front section is wrong, and it does not fit correctly.
I know, I spent 10 years serching !
The # 15 18 145 01 is the standard rear fender used on all the ML and MM frames and didn't have the mounting surface built in for the tail light. So for this restoration of my 79 390ACC I need to have the oem tail light and the correct fender to mount the tail light. If it was not going to be a "correct" restoration then I would just use the standard rear fender. Thank you for asking, will a 15 18 145 01 work?
