• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Got the silencer away from the fender, hate that getting yellow or black from exhaust.

So i finally took it for a ride. Was running way rich still on the main. :(
Was hard to ride, not for me. I know the motor works now and time to yank it out of there.
Have to leave it alone and sit on the shelf for a while.
Got a very nice rebuilt 400 XC motor going in. I like the bike and want to ride it with a clutch. :)

The carb tuning must be good when running with an auto.
Check especially the gas level in the carb, to have a good and low idle.

Well sad to say the swap is done but just for now, Going on a real good ride tomorrow.
86 400 XC spare motor to the rescue and i tried the auto carb with another jet swap, still crap.
Put on a old XC carb i tossed to the side from a parts bike.

I made the pilot and main jet swap from the auto carb with the slide from the auto on the cable still and went for a rip on the street. Got that sorted out. I went through the auto carb and cleaned it before i fired it up but its a no good. Over winter i will figure what i want to do.

if you ever want to part ways with that auto, i would love to give it a good home.

No Sir, sorry.
Its a new favorite smoker for me to ride.
Got a few things to do for next season.
430 in the 86 with the Lectron is going in to this bike so its a 430 again.
Put the 400 in the 86 and keep it a 400 like it should be.
The auto motor is in hiding, not going to break it that way...
