• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

99 TE 610 engine noise

hammered

Husqvarna
A Class
Bought this 610 a few months back
Love the bike
Had a 94 and this is much nicer ride

I have notices this motor has some engine noise
Can't pin point it
Oil looks fine
It might just be me being paranoid?

I recall my 94 was not the smoothest sounding engine when idling

Are these motors normally kind of rough sounding when idling?

It has a new top end but not sure the changed the crank bearings

Hope this is not what I am hearing?
Like I said above not able to pin point the mid level knocking
Rev it up a bit and sounds fine

One other ?
Who is a good source for parts west coast USA?
Gaskets and other misc engine parts when needed
Timing chain gaskets water pump impeller filters etc are things I would like

Thanks for any advice

Well the noise is coming from the right side of the engine case
My 7 year old was on the stethoscope and confirmed it with me
Valves chain cylinder all sound good

Come no one riding a 99?
I used to call the 94 a can of marbles

You might be right about clutch
I tried engaging the clutch but still noisy
Thanks for the tip

Was reading that clutch baskets in these bikes are problematic
Something about rivets failing?

This bike has 20,000 km now

Will have to read up on clutch fix before I open it up here and make sure I have the parts to fix it

It seems the clutch basket on these bikes are the week link
I read the thread on debris and this is more than likely my problem

Will pull it apart here and have a look inside

I recall my 94 was noisy and prob the same issue back then but not much info online like we have now

Will let you know what I find and snap some shots

Thanks for the help and links
