• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

A day in the life of: www.hva-factory.com

Andy looks awesome a 450lq milk truck.

with you pushing the edge of the envelope heading into custom big bores maybe KTM/husky is watching. I'd like to see a 400/500 cr/xc in a new bike with electric start and oil injection.

do you think a a company will develop a new engine with no race class to support it?

do you know why the kx 500 died?

justintendo your right. Why did the kx500 die was it because there was no class to race it in? NETRA does have a open class in the harescrambles I believe. I guess I'm a dying breed who likes bigbores.

When I suggested electric start, two stroke oil injection and fuel injection for years I was told we'd never see it? Now what about adding a bigger bore to it? We have the technology, to do it. It's time for the 2t evolution again.

I read somewhere that the Italian Husqvarna 360wr is faster than the new Husqvarna 300. But the KTM/husky bikes back then were suppose to compete with the 500cc bikes.

They still offer the Honda xr600?

IMG_1759.JPG Just got back from the main Swedish event - Arsracet! Thanks again to Peter and to the Pedersen family for 'hosting' me - riding in the Motocross.

Thanks also to the Swedish Legend - Peter Hansson for testing my 450 / 1984 L/C bike!!!

All up to date with orders at work now - so off to ride the Vintage race at the ISDE in France tonight on the Ferry.

I will be arriving there a bit late, so Signing on and scrutineering is guaranteed to be a nightmare!!!

Sad news is that one of the British club team riders died yesterday during the first day of the modern 6 day event. God speed to Michael Alty and sympathy to his family. At least he died doing something he loved, not that that will be any consolation to his family....

Hoping that the vintage race is going the be challenging and not just a trail ride. Will be meeting up with Geoff Ballard and the other Australians (some of whom are riding Huskies) as I am told the Brits and Ozzies are pitting together...

Back next week,

Andy.
