• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

A day in the life of: www.hva-factory.com

At last we have some progress to report on the new version 7 Clutch Covers!!

Here is a pic of the 1st off (made in a hurry - so its not as perfect as they will be), but it is looking promising. Now at least I can cast the new rubber insert for the vacuum fixture that holds them still - whilst the face is machined and the casing fixing holes are drilled. They then get bolted to a crankcase half to machine the bores of the K/S and G/L holes and other stuff....

The production run will begin once we have made a trial batch of 10 over the Christmas Holidays...

The tool also will do the L/C cover - as it has a changeable insert....IMG_2726.jpgIMG_2727.jpg

Come and see us at the Telford Classic Dirt Bike Show here in the UK on the 17th and 18th of February St Quentin Gate, Telford, Shropshire TF3 4JH

Where we will have one of our new 510 Twinshock Bikes on display, alongside my 1982 400 special WR as well as all the usual goodies you have come to expect!

We are also launching the HVA-Factory sponsored, 4 Stroke Twinshock MX Championship series. Open to anyone on a suitable bike - with 3 x age catagories...

This will develop over the next few years into a major series - and will run as part of the Farleigh King of the Castle races and the Vets des Nations weekend as well as specially selected other events.

For the future, racers will be able to register for the series and get special series race shirts that are being designed and will be available later this year....

Andy.
