• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

A very sad day for me

My condolences

Just playing....
That does suck. I get emotionally attached to bikes and have a hard time letting them go. I'm sure she'll end up in a good home.

Look at the bright side though.... Shiny new WR in the geerodge. Yee haw!

Personally I think your a little loopy. That ain't saying much for you considering it's coming from a guy who's more than a little loopy himself but you already have a 125. Sure it's not the '09 but is it that much of a better bike that you ditch the 450?

I think it will sell quickly at that price and you may not be asking enough considering you've got a serious chunk of change in extras.

Wow! That seems like a low price to me. I just bought a slightly used (330 miles) 08 TE450 that had the necessary extras (Uptite skidplate, Y-pipe, axle screw, rad guards, Cycra hand guards, power up kit) for 5k and thought I got a smoking deal. Doubt that will last long.

I really want that 09 125 too, but this bike came up and I'm dumping my 05 KTM 400 that has been good as well. Just thought the Husky would compliment my SM'd TE610. The 125 would be so fun in the tight single track here in the NC high country... must resist... for a month at least!!

Personally, I think you're getting your kicks off of the the little 125...makes you feel young again and I dig that. I'll reserve judgement until I ride a WR 125, but like you always say the big bores don't feel heavy when you ride them. Plus, they can be ridden lazily or agressively. Let me ask you this...how long are you going enjoy riding a bike like you stole it?

No replies from Kelly, I'm guessing he's to busy scratching his head to type of few lines.

All things aside, that is a hell of a deal on a bike**************************************** Think about it...with Kelly setting it up...perfectly jetted...magic carpet ride...stabilizer precise handling...protected for the rough stuff...and a lot of accesories with a little bling bling.

WR300. Best of both worlds. Word.

Rode one back to back with my 04 125 and no thanks. Cool bike but the fun factor is through the roof and I'm quite fast on the stuff i ride on the 125. I have always perfered 250's over 300's. The 300's are cool but i feel they overwhelm the handling IMHO.

You guys are funny. If you knew me for long enough you would realize i do this a lot. One extreme to the other. 250F, 450, 125, 500, 2stroke, 4 stroke. I like them all and they all work for me. I really will miss the 450 but am REALLY enjoying the 125 right now. The 450 makes you lazy and I want a little edge back. There is also something fun about being the underdog. I have ridden the 125 a LOT lately and it is the fact that I pick it from a garage of bikes every time, even over the 450 that pushed me over the edge and into 09 WR125 ville. The 125 makes sense for me right now. I ride 80% tight single track and just love the mountain bike with a chainsaw motor in ti for this stuff. I also found I am actually faster in this stuff now that i have learned the 125 way. it is a more complicated riding style, more busy and way different. Right now i am liking this aspect of it as I get off my ass and ride it. The super light weight and fantastic handling just work in the tight.

David (Fitness2go) I rode with Brian the other day at Belfair. He had been riding a lot, has gained speed and when i showed up with the 04 125 he thought this might be his chance to keep me in sight. I think he was a little shocked when I put good distance on him. Not taking away from him, he is riding great. I;m not slower on the 125 and maybe faster. i also have a freaking riot on it and that's why i ride. It does take a whole new mind set and it for sure is not for everyone. It is for me right now, i am sure of that.

BTW I have a KX500, TE/SM610, ATK490 so if i need to hit the dez and go fast i can bring one of those if i feel the urge.

I also picked this up a few days ago...

406 2 stroke. It's kinda cool and like new condition. Got it for a song.

- Don't worry about me, i have options. I will dearly miss the 450 but all great things come to an end.

I'm still shaking my head at this awesome deal. Some quick math from my end puts mods and bling close to $3K. Yeah Kelly's in the industry loop but geez, what a deal

Kelly; that headline sucks!..... and the ATK ROCKS ********************************************************************************! :D

blinged up or not, expect to drop about 2800 USD from new price, that would be fair

I just got 7000 USD for my 08, incl: Disc Guards, Handguards, Exhaust Shield, Rad Braces & Guards, Stealth Sprocket, Quality Chain, 09 Wave Rotors, 6 day Graphic kit as well as a new standard graphics set, New tyres, IMS Tank, Case Guard, Oil sight glass protector, Force bash plate, ASV Lever, Braided Front brake line, New rear brake line, Disc Pad, IMS Tank. etc etc. Some of the stuff hasn`t even been fitted yet, so he gets all the standard stuff too

That`s 4k AUD under MSRP For the bike alone, the buyer got a bargain & i`m glad to be rid of it.

i don`t want to sound negative or rain on the parade, but after a long time on Husky it`s time for a change,
don`t get me wrong, the bikes are sweet but as an overall package the brand no longer excites me or delivers enjoyment. Hopefully it`ll change, with the early models you knew exactly what you were getting, the last couple of years the Husky mainstream promo & advertising exceeds the capabilities as a company, just my opinion & not an attack, i will miss the brand for sure

I can definitely see your point. The 300 can be a handful in tight stuff especially if you're a fast rider. I guess my love for the 300 is based on it's ability to lug slowly through the trails due to its bottom-end torque. I'm an old, lazy rider who's not too concerned about being fast anymore, so the 300 gives me a nice blend of 4 stroke bottom end and 2 stroke ease of maintenance. Best of luck with selling the 450.
