    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Adjusting the engine idling

Sorry, but your bikes to how many laps have the engine idling? My exceed 1600 rpm, if I wanted to lower it as I do?
 
I think it sounds high but the Moss tool set up could make changes but mine runs from 1500 to 1600 depending on the days temperature!
 
I dont believe the moss can adjust the idle.
I could be wrong but I beleive the idle setting are in the base programing and not "adjustable".
I had a bad stalling BMW 650 that I believed a slight increase in idle would have fixed or made better, and BMW could not do it with the Moss.

FWIW these engines dont idle low well at all without lots of stalling.
If yours is above 1500 consider yourself lucky.

I have just received an email from Rexxer, and they need a 650 to write the software, the are in VA and if anyone has a bike to lend, i'm sure it would be worthwhile for all!

Sure it can, though not directly.

A skilled MOSS person can with enough patience adjust the idle speed a bit, mine was. Just keep telling the MOSS to update the bike over and over.

in addition the temperature spoofers seem to increase the idle a bit when first started, at least the Booster Plug on my bike does.
 
I just stumbled across this bit of info in the manual. Actually looking or something else but landed on this page.

Idle speed adjustment
The idle speed is pre-set by the control unit (1550 rev/min.) and the stepper motor ensures that this value is preserved.
No manual adjustment is possible, nor any adjustment through the diagnostic tool.
