• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

aftermarket brake levers 630

Ketek

Husqvarna
AA Class
Hi there,

I think there was a post about someone installing a different brake lever on the 630, but I can't seem to find it anymore.

Has anybody installed a shorter aftermarket lever on the 630 and got a recommendation?

-Phil

I´ve been looking for one too. Think the only solution is to find a different make of bike which uses the same levers .... and then order them from one of the many fancy after market lever people. The problem is the brake switch activation which seems to be an afterthought on the 630 Maguras.

ASV Shorty Levers

CDC602-SK (SHORT BLACK C6 CLUTCH LEVER)
BRC555-SK (SHORT BLACK C5 BRAKE LEVER)
just fitted some:)

I got a brake and clutch levers from Midwest Mountain Engineering.
Very happy with the result.

Instructions that came with the brake lever-
Remove old brake lever.
The next step is crucial-
Fix new brake lever- use lubricant if you like

I had a friend cut a section out of the middle of the front brake lever with a hacksaw and weld it back together adding some built up aluminum. After half and hour with a file and some sand paper the lever was just like new but shorter and fit inside my hand guards.

Do they activate the switches???
yes buddy they do.Can do you some piccys if needs be.You got any settings yet for JD;).Going to fit mine when it warms up and EHS Filter to.But going to leave filter for a bit not made my mind up whether to fit one or not

I´ll not tell you my JD settings right now ... as the new BMW/Husky people here changed them during the last service (or, more likely played around with the buttons) and I´m waiting for some seriously good weather to get things back to the way I like it. Did you ever find out which other bike the ASV levers fit? (Asv doesn´t list Husky)

I cut mine stock ones down and built a ball from JBweld putty. Worked great. There are some pics on here somewhere. Cam.
