• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Never have seen one either in all the years I've had an interest in that era Husky. Maybe a limited run of an aftermarket part that never went anywhere so it never made it to the retail shelf? That bike has had frame work done as well. Would be nice to see more pics of it.

No idea?! Good looking unit though! Nice to see something different every now and then to make everyone scratch their heads a little bit and wonder. Never even seen that in pictures or ever for that matter! Home made?

Frame also looks a bit different. The rear engine mount and the brace directly above the number plate. Also my backing plate isn't stamped with the crown like that one. Odd beast for sure. The brace from the frame to the intake is also gone. But mine is also a 72 250. Probably a few differences depending on how close yours is to mine. Awesome bike though!

72 250 CL - Copy.jpg Great observations. In addition to the frame bracing, it looks like the swing arm pivot brackets have been drilled, and the brake pedal has had the rod attachment point relocated. It's not mine, but found on Craigslist. The ad is a bit confusing as they state in all Caps not to email, but call. Unfortunately, I can't find a number in the ad to call.

Here is a link to the ad and a few more pics:

Not a 72 tank either. Mine is a 72 250. It has the more round tank. That looks like it might be a few years later but I'm not way familiar with these years but I do know that isn't a 72 tank haha nice looking ride though

I have the guy's ph number (Russ- ad writer or Mark?? owner- I dunno which). Russ got in touch with me after an email and said he corrected the ad... but it's gone now?

pm me if you want the number.

On that frame there would be no reason for the bracing tubes added unless the numberplates are concealing laydown shock mounts. The laydown shock mounts may have been removed during the restoration
