• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Air Filter Fix

Riding Again

Husqvarna
AA Class
If you guys have been following the air filter options on adv and here, there are 2: the pod, and 3d printing a secure way to use the uni filter and seal the air box for no leaks. I just received the parts from David Frazier – Operations Manager

This was one of the most pleasant experiences dealing with a company. Very quick and stress free. Will run $57.40. I think this is very reasonable. I will post the pictures if any one wants but it is on adv already. I like this route and leaves every thing stock with no leaks. Just wanted to give my opinion if any one was debating this

Yep, I agree, it was super simple working with them.

Mine's still sitting on my kitchen table though along with my uni filter from down under. I haven't acquired the 3M structural adhesive or the gasket material yet.

Could you please post pics and a ADV link for this. Which version did you go with - the two piece or one piece wedge type? I'm very interested. Thanks

I will post the adv link because the pics ordering materials and installation is already laid out ADVLINK

Might be good to post up the post # on ADV as different folks might have strayed from the default settings over there to display more or less post-per-page....meaning your link points to page, say, 64....but that's with 10 post/page....which makes it a dead link to me, as I'm on 5posts/ page.
The post# stays the same, regardless of what settings/page-display is used.

A word of caution if doing the 3d printed fix & sealing the clamshell join above the intake... if you are inserting a foam gasket in that area (you know... the area that doesn't have a gasket) then don't over torque the screw on the air box top that sits above it when reassembling. It's very easy to punch the screw through the air box in that spot.
