  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Air Filters

Interested in purchasing a 2nd air filter for my '10 TE310.

No matter what company website I search in, there's no mention of my bike to get a part #.

Does all the TE's use the same air filter? I'd assume so, but I don't want to purchase a filter that won't fit correctly.

Yes they are the same as the older bikes. Even the 2 strokes.

My favorite is the moose filter, Motosportz sells them.

Later,

We run the Moose #1011-0833 Precision Pre-oiled and if you like the do it yourself version #1011-0458

The Moose equipment guide shows 04-08 but it does cover all the 250/310/450/510 04 to 2010

Thanks for the help!

In the middle of the month I'm doing a week long ride in MI. I'm going to pack a pre oiled filter and swap it out mid-week.

Well have a great ride and don't forget to do a post on it with pictures and vids.

I have a Moose in mine. More compact and easier to get in and out of the box. Seems to run a little better than the Twin Air.

I run a K&N in mine and it's a 2-part, smaller version than the Twin Air I originally purchased as a backup. It goes in easier than Twin air and my bike immediately ran a little leaner (stumbled at lower RPMs), which confirms to me it lets air in easier. Since I have a PCIII I simply added fuel where needed and presto - runs like a champ.
