• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hi,

i'm thinking in the perfect dual-sport bike, and my love is with husky 610. I have some questions maybe you can help me, I think this is the perfect place :)

So, this are my questions:

How much kilometers can be done with a full stock tank ?, I have read that in near future will be a new bigger tank from aqualine, I hope this will be true.

Is EFI new model better than old well know carburated 610 ?

Can EFI "drink" any kind of fuel from remote places, with low octan or very bad quality, will be any problem with EFI systems ?

¿ What about airbox, I like cross water a lot... and I see the airbox in a very low position...

It's better to buy a good offert 2008 model, or wait to the new upgrade 2009/2010 610 with 50" fork and other upgrades ?

I cam from a KTM 2004 950 Adv with a lot upgrades, really a great bike but a littel heavy :)

Thanks for this great forum.

Antonio,

Ciao,
NC

Tambien quiero decir binevenido a Cafe Husky.

Thanks all for the info.

I'm from Málaga, south Spain. A great place, I think one of the best in the world :). Near Morocco, Argelia, Tunez... whole Africa! And in spain we have a lot of tracks and Portugal is fabulous.

About 610, all people tell me EFi is the future and is very reliable but in south marocco a carburator that you can clean and repair may have no price... although if efi never fail... who know :) NothingClever, 225km is good fuel range, with IMS fuel tank it will be over 350km I think, is this true ? In my ktm the EFi version (990) isn't better than carcurator (950) and don't have better fuel range.

What about fuel with low octane ?

What do you think about this bike: http://motos.coches.net/ocasion/husqvarna/te/610-2000-en-almeria-3909837.htm

I think is a good price if bike is ok.

Un saludo.

Hola.... 610 muey bueno...si 610...no caca 610 muey bien...
Aside from being a proud TE610 owner, I'm also an aspiring
Flamenco guitarist and I worship the god of Paco DeLucia,
the greatest guitarist on the planet. Thought maybe our Spanish
members could relate. Sorry for hijacking the topic but guitar is another passion of mine. Jeroldo610

Thanks for this great forum.

Welcome to Cafe Husky

Yes you indeed posted in the 610 forum and that is the perfect place on Cafe Husky.

You are welcome, thank you for joining

If i could live anywhere on earth, it would be Malaga, Spain.

Rode a Husky there in jan '07. You are a lucky hombre!

Dont worry about the EFI!

Low octane fuel will be fine. Ive used it in baja.

South Morrocco has good Total fuel stations-even Tan Tan has one.

I'd like Ceuta or Melilla myself.

But my wife has plans for Santiago, Chile or just outside Medellin for after retirement.

Reading all info from here and other forums I think the best option today is EFi version. Now in these next few months in Spain the law prohibits motorbike off-road to prevent 'fire' in forest so i will wait until september/october to buy my new bike.

Mike in morocco there is a lot Total fuel stations in south but if you travel near Argelia in the desert there is trips with more than 400km without fuel or maybe some fuel in a very littel village but not from a total fuel station, it will be from the station of a moroccan in his home and of very dubious quality :)

I will be happy if someone travel near málaga and we can drink some beers :)

jerbear610 I don't know to play guitar but I like flamenco a lot, obviously here we have the better flamenco in the world and a lot of artist that aren't know outside spain. In some places in the street while you walk you can listen flamenco from young people or in their house only for enjoy. Unfortunately, over time and with globalization, we are losing some of this art.

The air box opening is low but the actual carb. inlet inside the air box is at the top so the filter element might get wet but the bike wont drown any easier than any other bike.
