No, I didn't really expect IMS to do anything about, but it was worth a try. I was mostly just irritated at the whole ordeal. First it didn't fit, then the shrouds were not compatible, then the graphics didn't really look that great, then the stabilizer wouldn't work and now I broke a $275 tank on the 2nd ride. It was very slim though and did it's job. The good thing is now I can practice heating it to try to get the stabilizer to work.
post up some photos of the damage

 I'd be open for that.
I'd be open for that. BUT - larger capacity tanks for other bikes I've owned have been problematic also

I feel your pain 2nd ride and all, but I can't say it's IMS's fault either. I hate those trees that reached out and grabbed you then bitch slap you to the ground.

I favor aluminum, mostly because it can (easily) be repaired. But a good plastic design (with non-spinning threaded shroud inserts) that allows use of stock tank shrouds is okay too (see requirements in my previous post). Curious since you and your friend have discussed this - when you say "if enough people are interested" - how many people are you talking about? FWIW, I'd be happy to beta test a prototype
