  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Am I the 1st to break the IMS tank?

I’m hard on my equipment. In fact my friends all give me crap because my 08 TE450 already looks like it’s got 10 hard years on it. That said my IMS has taken a lot of abuse, both maxi-wings have scratches and gouges from being dumped in the rocks. So far (knock on wood) no breaks, cracks, leaks, busted seems, nada…

So far I guess I’ve been lucky – my number just isn’t up yet! :busted:
That right there Chad is an understatement!

I am in the process of sending it to IMS via a representative for review and inspection. I don't want to muddy the waters anymore with pictures or anymore commentary. That's the reason that I toned down my original post. I was very upset to start with and made some unfair accusations / assumptions as to the quality of their product. I don't really feel that way and am trying to resolve the issue privately. Thanks, Jason

I don't think you were out of line. IMS has never been real good with customer service it is OK to tell the truth.

I have had several IMS tanks that were defective and were replaced and some were not. A tank melted because they tried using the same tank for multiple models(2000 or 2001 125 pipe too close), shroud inserts spinning inside the tank(very common for several years), and tanks cracking due to "lack of talent."

Your choice if you want to post pics or not, for whatever reason.

That $385 is at today's exchange rate, note the list price also includes Aussie GST tax. Can someone from downunder let us know what your goverments cut of the action is. I would be ready to buy a Husky tank like this.

My NJ dealer just quoted $350 USD.

They don't have delivery info, maybe next week. I ordered it anyway.

Cheers, M.

Does Safari have any plans for making a larger tank for Husqvarna Dual Sport bikes.?

There are rumors. Fingers crossed. They make great products. Guys at Dakar use their tanks.

Ive been hitting up Aqualine for 5 years now for a Husky tank. They are slowly realizing the brand is growing. Worth sending them emails.

got a IMS tank and assembled it and put it on the bike, filled it up, and heard something running ont the floor, looked underneath and the tank was 'pissing' out of the fuel injection inserts >:O sending it back tmw, the dealer i got it from said IMS should take it back, fingers crossed
