    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Hi Guys,

I bought my bike early this year. I live in Vancouver, BC and unfortunately there are no dealers remotely close by that have a moss tool. So to have a new bike running like a new bike I recently installed the PVC. Once connected (blood and tears) I took the bike for a spin. I didn’t notice much difference but it was running smoother. After a few days of riding I noticed when powering on the bike the outside temperature would flicker all over the place and it would tell me it was 28degress C outside when it was 18deg. I thought nothing of it and started the bike and went to work (40KM away). Once the bike got hot it refused to idle would die at every stop and in traffic I was about to leave the bike and walk.


Has anyone got some suggestions as to why this would happen. I am not very technical and I know most would say remove the PCV but it took me 4hrs to install the device and paid $300 bucks for it. The cannister has been removed (by the dealer when i bought the bike).
 
The temp sensor is in the air box which presumably is warmer than ambient air.
If it were me, I'd remove the battery terminals for a few minutes then re-connect and see how it runs (I am assuming you do not have an Autotune module).
 
Hmmmm...that is VERY odd indeed! Call or email their product suport and see what they say. Dynojet staff are very quick to respond to emails and the company is VERY "customer satisfaction" driven. I have their products (PCV and AT) on my TR and have not experienced anything like what you are seeing.

Have you tried downloading another map posted here.
 
I did upload the map from Chris’s but sadly it didn’t change anything. Here’s a question: When you install the PCV there is three stages, from splicing the wires near the voltage regulator through to the TPS connector. Which one of those would affect the idle or is it all of them. Why I ask is I will cry if I have to remove the PCV completely as it took ages to get in and the girlfriend didn’t talk to me for two days as it was her hands that got the hardest part completed. I was busy kicking a tree and jumping up and dwon like a 3yr old.
 
Not really sure of your exact situation, but you could put all zeros in the map. That way the PC V should not be affecting the bike at all.
