  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Anyone ever use a "trikstand"?

I own a 2011 TC449 that I ride trails with as well as a little track time. I want to have some kind of kickstand for trail use but dont really want the massive kickstand that comes on the TE/TXC bikes. Saw the trikstand on youtube and it looks interesting.........any thoughts?

Let me know if it works for you. I posted the link to one a while ago. Looks like a great idea. I too am not fond of the big clunky kickstand. My stock mount is all twisted to hell. The bike leans over way too far. I did notice that you will need one of the axles that do not have the pull handles. And check to make sure the hole is 3/4"

J-train,

Yeah I know I need to look into the axle hole diameter but these have been out for a while now and I dont see many real reviews, just the bull posted on their website that says that it is the best thing since sliced bread..........someone has to have bought one!

It's only 80$ buy one and be the Beta tester. I would but I need a different axle too so the investment is more to me.

Will probably pull the trigger when I can scratch together a little $$, All free money going into my new house right now. I will let you all know how it turns out......

I may buy one as I absolutely dislike the SMR511 OE kickstand. The "auto up" feature is absolutely retarded.

Grind or cut off the pin that the spring tab rotates around and it'll not take any more naps while it's warming up.

Thank you! I have a vague recollection of a way to fix this, but did not see an "easy" fix. Die grinder is an easy fix though :-). Doing this today!
