  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

    Thanks for your patience and support!

could someone confirm that the 76 wr tank is same as79 or or just give me dimensions cheers,ie width at top, bottom length and height thanks

Do you have a picture of what the tank you want looks like? Would it be the same one that once was on the frame and other stuff I listed in the classified a couple of months ago? You seem really pesistant, to me for my purposes all my tanks in the pile are functional while other parts well less than half of them are functional. I think you can answer your own question by going through the parts sheets and pats numbers.

75 to 80 tanks are pretty close, starting in 77 78 they stopped using the cross over line on the bottom of the tank.
they will fit the frame without modifications.

What he wants isn't going to be a steel tank? I would guess the wr had the larger of what tanks they used.

WR,s had a larger tank, i think 2.6 gallons, CR had a thin tank, cap off to the tight side, some were alloy some were steel.
alloy CR tanks are fetching top dollar right now..heck the last WR steel tank i picked up off Fleabay ran me 100.00 and it needs restored...
should have held on to all the tanks i used to have:{

i have one,, but well restore it first before i sell it,,
one pictured looks to be a 79 tank..only reason i say that is the heatshield on the pipe.

I just bought a used CR alloy tank for mine from Husky Spares UK and paid 200 pounds (~300 USD) for it. It would need to be resprayed if doing an as new restoration and it has a small dent, but as I will race the bike I won't bother spending anymore on it. I like the "used" look :thumbsup:
