  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Anyone have a TrailTech headlight?

As for the lower mounting you can simply use the up pin plate on top of the fork brace by screwing it on. Or remove the fork brace altogether and mount it as shown on the included instructions. Simple. I have used both methods, both EZ. I prefer to remove the brace so the light mounts lower.

You never helped in the first place. Whoop dee doo.

You STILL wouldn't have helped if I hadn't said it in public.
But, yeah, I'm completely off base.

Enjoy your karma. The fraud rip-off and all.

My reputation for helping stands for itself.

But here are a few of my latest posts anyway, none of which has anything to do with sales...

The list is endless.

Karma is on full. Driving 300 miles next week to drop off a ton of gear for "ride for our troops" effort up in Seattle. I do what I can where I can, and where I choose, thanks for judging me without knowing me at all.

2500 community service hours in the last 2 years helping blind kids.
My reputation lies outside this forum. Like the troops you mention.

The pleasure is all mine, I assure you.

If your daughter has an extremely rare disorder, and you prefer making profit and then ignoring someone risking life and limb to raise awareness for said disorder... You kinda open yourself up to being judged. Just a little.
A tiny bit.
A molecule.
A proton of judgment.

Ok...a lot.

Kelly/Motosportz has a lot of cred and has done a lot to support this forum and the riders here, and that is just scratching the surface. He is a stand-up guy.

WbCherry - You are showing your soft n00b underbelly and digging yourself a nice deep hole by attacking him, and doing your own charitable efforts no favors in the process. :oldman: It's a good thing your reputation lies outside this forum, because it's getting pretty bad here, and fast.

Good luck with your ride and your charity

Wow all this over a head light:banghead: . I was hopping someone was buying one of these

I have never done any night riding but would love to try one of these bad boy's out. Personally I think Motosportz has some great products and can't wait to order a few my self. As a small business owner myself it can be a very tough battle trying to make parts, talk to prospective customers, and deal with keeping a business afloat. So I commend Kelly for all his hard work and wish WbCherry good luck on his adventure. BTW anyone looking to raise money for kids and ride dirt bikes is more than welcome to join me and the rest of the Merrimack Valley Trail Riders at the New England Charity Classic as we ride to raise over $100,000 for Cystic Fibrous in one weekend!

I have this one in HID... Great light but draws a bit too much power to run both bulbs on my 125. My TXC runs it fine.

This one is my favorite though. On my 125 it is perfect with one of their LED helmet lights for trail riding. For racing I have used it on my TXC with an MR16.

The extreme trail light requires a monster stator, if you push the limits you end up with flickering and frustration. More than one friend has had that problem.

Night riding rules!

Later,

I just need to know who in New England wants to hold a night event and let me borrow one. lol They look really cool but unless you have some night riding planned i'll just stick with the stock one.

Yeah, makes me realize how vulnerable we are to random attacks by misguided bomb throwers.

That is the fear of industry people, factory people and manufactures and why you see little participation in web forums which is unfortunate and keeps us from first hand information. It is a thin line to walk and you stick yourself out there for messes like this. There are lots of web personalities and sometime we come off on the web not like we really are. I'm sure he is a good person and obviously has his heart in the right place on the kid support thing. Lets just let this go and move on.

My two cents>>>Just picked up my New 2011 TXC 449. Passed my WR450F onto my son. Found Kelly's site, emailed him a couple of questions and received an answer the next day. Placed my order and received it in the normal amount of time. Emailed Kelly again with new questions and received an answer the next day.

My opinion is that he has good customer service and provides a needed product at a reasonable price.

ps... being new to this forum, I really enjoyed that exchange...

Yeah, totally agree. Kelly is someone you can talk to and that's good. He has responded each time I have reached out to him. Also, when you buy something from him, it arrives on the quick!

I did get the Trail Tech head light, just need to button up the installation. Haven't decided what to do at the bottom of the light / top of fender. At this point there is no solution. Something needs to be rigged / fabricated.

Hey Medic, yes I've been running the headlight for a couple years now. It's just strapped to the forks. Not the best picture but you get the idea. For sure! We should hit the trails- where do you like to ride usually?
