• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Anyone in/near North Carolina?

I may see if I can meet you there. Getting off work isn't an issue but getting me and the bike there might be. I'll send you a PM later in the week if it works out.

got insurance, placed headlight and tailight and got inspected. You may need to throw a horn, brake switch and odo on there though if your inspector is a stickler. i just went to a service station that does MC inspections (a station i have delt with for a long time). If you go to the DMV inspector it may be a hassle. at the DMV tag office had to have a odometer reading statement, bill of sale, MSO, proof of insurance and inspection.

that OEM wiring harness you will need can run everything stated above.

Cool. Maybe you got lucky due to it being a Husky. I've heard many stories of guy going the same route you did but were denied due to a lack of a proper vin number with all of the Japanese makers. This difficulty is what lead me to by my TE.

Looks like you are in luck Mark.

the MSO on the wr reads "125 motorcycle". no discussion of "off road use only" or "2-stroke". otherwise it would have never happened in NC.

After I get the OEM wiring harness will I need to get the stator rewound for more power or did you use a battery?

no, the stator is running the headlight, tail light and brake light just fine. although, if you plan on doing any night riding you may need to rethink your headlighting. I went with a OEM 2007-2009 headlight and acerbis LED taillight.

I live in hickory, nc just bought 2013 te511 rode a couple of times at brushy love it over there I am looking for people to ride some trails with just getting back into riding and don't have any friends that ride.

Hey guys, I'm in Athens, GA with my 2007 te450 and would like to meet up with some other husky owners to ride when the weather warms up a bit. Where are y'all located?

I'm in Calabash NC (southeast corner of NC) and have a TE630. Looking for riders. I am a rookie off road so nothing too technical.
