• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Anyone know if a 125/144 engine bolts in a 10 or newer tc/txc/te frame???

here is your swing arm for the WR250 in a 09 and up frame...

Thanks. But do you know if the 96 WR (wxc?) 250 2 stroke swingarm will work??? I guess a guy can fab anything if he has enough time and money. What about the 96 engine?? I'm thinking seriously about this whole mess. I love the old engine but don't like the old frame and love the 150 frame! Let me know if ya know any more. Thanks.

It is almost like someone at the top of BMW hates 2 strokes. But it started a long time ago, when the 6 speed was dropped then the wide ratio 5.
Yea, how stupid!!! I remember my 93 or 94 250 2 stroke!!! Do not quote me, but my dad (In his 88 ford f150) Claims (we were on tar) that he clocked me at over 90 MPH**************************************** Before I geared er down a bit. What the hec are they doing with that stupid 5 speed anyway!!! The 6 speed NEVER broke so what the hec is the deal????????????????????????? I'm not waiting till 2014 for this!!!

Let me know if ya know any more. Thanks.

I really don't. Tim Troffer should no more some day semi soon. It's going to be a fab job no matter what. How EZ I have no idea. I do thing you will be far ahead using the 4 st frame as it has a larger cradle, the 125/150 is going to take some frame cutting and welding I'm sure. the 250F frame might not.

I think the most cost effective/best way would be to buy a 09 and up wr250/300 and a 08 and up tc/txc/te frame from a part out and put it together

What if a guy had a 96 Frame and all, would that work???? If I decide to go though all this, I gotta have a 6-speed!!!

they really went away from a trail bike to a race bike as it evolved. I had a 02 250 and 94 360 and ride a lot with a buddy that has a 07 WR250. He was pissed after looking at my old bikes...

- Long range 6 speed
- super slim and low 3.4 gallon tank (stock)
- axle pull handles
- zerk fittings
- adjustable fork preload
- low seat height
- very robust gusseted sub frame
- twin wall almost indestructible and well built pipe
etc

Sad part is, If I could buy that bike new and with wave rotors! And hec I loved the zoke right side up fork on my 96, I would do it**************************************** Yea the seat was low. With me being almost a midget at 5'7" the new ones are a pain!!! Almost made me ride a devil (Gas Gas) bike!! But I don't think I can do it!!! Ergos if I remember right were just a bit cramped in the foot peg to seat distance. But Yea some wider footpegs and a little tweaking and bingo**************************************** Any one got one of these laying around with 5 hours on it for sale****************************************

Their exercise of putting the 360 into the frame is positive for several reasons. It suggests the new frame has some valid positives over the old one (but that is kind of obvious), and they are thinking about the 2 stroke (more specifically, a big bore 2 stroke). I would think they are working with the 360 because they want a better, bigger 300...more torque!
