• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Anyone remove all the electric start componets from a new Beta??

Why is it you can not order a Beta for a credit without the electric start??????????

It's because people buy Beta 2 strokes so they can have a reliable electric start. It's a huge advantage riding and racing. You save time and effort. Small engine kills take a second to touch the button to start. You ride faster and save time and effort ... Saving weight here just doesn't make sense compared to the benefits. What are you racing? not mx right?

For me the e start is the main exact reason for me getting a beta 300 as my next bike.. That and the rest of the package.. 6 speed great handling , great motor,... Locally every Beta brought in to the state is sold .. especially the 2 stroke since this is mainly 2 stroke trail country. Right now the new Beta 2 strokes are the bike to get.. That's the buzz on the offroad rider talk. Our local little Beta dealer is third in the nation in sales . That's good since I don't hear of any other brand of offroad bike selling well here. I think ktm following has fallen off some locally . .. guys have also been buying some gasgas too after holding off a few years during the recession. I haven't heard anyone in the trails talking about getting a new ktm.. but tons are talking about the Beta and how it works so well.. and how they wish they had some money or had to sell bikes blah blah blah to get one.
Really if you don't want an electric start get a new husky or ktm or something else. That makes more sense.

The e start is what got me looking at Beta also...I've not heard good things about the KTM or GG. I've heard good things about Sherco....but none around here
