• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Are basic Italian Husky parts becoming hard to find?

I needed a rear hub and carrier for my 09 WR last year during ice racing series and called all the big names. I had to park the Huskie.

Not a perfect world for sure Steve. I've been hung up a few times over the years on Husky parts. I ended up parking my '87 430WR with a broken left case back in the day, because parts situation was so bad in the first Cagiva transition. Wheel availability was always sort of a problem for Italian Huskys. The most frustrated I ever was, it was a broken rear wheel rim for my '01 TE400... proprietary Husky Excel rim and not available at the time. Sucked!

Warp 9 wheel assemblies are available for 2003 up Huskys for a reasonable price and come with a rotor and sprocket of your choice. I have two of them.
BMP usually has used and new OEM assemblies and can get the Warp 9s in a few days if they aren't in stock.
The last I checked Motosportz Mike had new OEM hubs.
It's a shame your bike was sidelined for so long:mad:

I have a Warp 9 rear for my '09 WR165. Lots of options now, that weren't available 10 years ago!

do the warp 9 fit the 250/300 2Ts?

They make a four stroke and a two stroke rear wheel, the fronts are the same The two stroke rear fits all the two strokes and the four stroke rear fits everything. I don't know if there are any Warp 9 wheels that fit TR/Strada bikes. ??
The axle size changed around 04 in the US and the wheels could be used on pre 04 with different bearings and spacers.

jap backup? ive got another husky as spare, if i cant swap it off one bike i will just ride the other.
thing i would like is con rod kit for 360 2002. buut when tear down calls for it i may be able to source one (i hope)

Well you shoulda kept the sprocket bolts tight and you wouldn't have needed a hub!! lol JK!

Fourstroke wheels will fit a twostroke there is just some spacer foolery to deal with.

Gotcha, the f'ing rotor bolts loosened up while my Pro was winning a TT race on the ice. It was hilarious to hear him go by clanging like a bell and with no rear brake he smoked a very good rider on a 450. He won the main with no rear brake also. I'm building him a Rocket screw front tire for the Utah indoor next sunday for the ICE Championships first race [arena ice racing]. The kid is sick fast and I have even faster kids I help. Luv it.

I recently visited my local Husky dealer looking for some parts (radiator shrouds, oil filters, intake manifold boot, and brake pads) for my 2009 TE510. At the counter I was told I couldn't place an order because the "computers at husky were down" and even if the order was placed I wouldn't see the parts for possibly months. A few quick calls to other dealers resulted in finding out some items are on "backorder." I realize Husky has been sold, but are the new owners really doing nothing to keep parts available for older models? I don't expect them to manufacture new spares, but at least keep track of, and make available the ones that already exist.

P.S. I tracked down some oil filters semi locally and bought out their stock on hand, cross referenced the front brake pads with a KTM and found those, repaired my shroud using zip-tys, and was looking at buying the manifold boot as insurance after reading OlderHuskyRider's awesome thread about his TE...Hope mine doesn't begin to leak...

I'll call BS on all this... Not sure what planet you are on, but in over a decade of riding Huskies, I have never had a problem with parts on my CR and TXC and TC models.

Freggin' brake pads are everywhere for these bikes .. ITS JUST a Brembo brake... I'm even getting parts from American dealers for 65cc bikes that were not even sold in America. I can buy Brembo pads in Manila, Philippines for my bike ... lol ...

"I don't expect them to manufacture new spares, but at least keep track of, and make available the ones that already exist." What? I'll let your parents straighten you out on that remark.

Please slander Husky bikes on another web site.

Did you ever think that you're getting parts from a dealer that inventories them and his is ordering? Don't really see the point in acting like this. He's frustrated trying to order parts and isn't happy since the changeover.

You are right that there is a way to make wheels work by spacing on the 2000s era Huskys, but it is the two stroke rear wheel that will work on the four strokes by spacing the sprocket out 5mm from the hub.. The fronts are the same.

Agreed on the sprocket bolts......
:)

Only time I've ever had sprocket bolts come loose, was when the swing arm bearings were sloppy and swing arm was moving.... in the wrong directions!:busted:

Ice racing loosens stuff up like you cannot believe with a 35 pound rear wheel vibrating like an Elf on acid. Even fender bolts fall off. If you need any parts go to an ice race and walk the track, LOL.

I can only imagine. Out here in the mild PNW, there is no ice racing but there is some studding of tires.:)

Trellies were great fun on cold frozen snowmoble tracks in the woods as it is like slot car racing and plenty of traction. Now we ususally get thru a day with Cold Cutters in the knobbies and have great traction till you spin on an unseen rock. Most knobbies will take a 7/8" or 1" if you angle them just right.

My intent was not to slander Husky, I was just frustrated by what I was told by my local dealer and wanted see what experiences others were having. I was able to find brake pads, but as stated in the original post, they were sourced form KTM. I owe a big thanks to the members of this fine community/board who took the time to post helpful advice. I took their recommendations and contacted/purchased from Halls. I apologize if I came off as the know nothing blow hard you clearly think I am. I can assure you that I have the utmost respect for the Cafe Husky community and a thoroughly enjoy riding and maintaining my Husqvarna.
