  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

ARe the 2014 FE bikes street legal?

Looking at the Husqvarna lineup for 2014 I see a new FE "Enduro" bikes, but there's no mention that they are (or will be) street legal. Does anybody know what the plan is for these bikes?

Maybe not. Husky / KTM are saying something like 22 new models next year. To do so I would think several of those might be street legal. Time will tell.

West coaster are screw but here in Ohio these bikes have "MC" not "off-road" on the MSO. This means I can have the dealer plate the bike right out of the crate.:applause: Now if you can import a plated bike like this form another state, give me a call!

Now if you wanted one buy the KTM and add the linkage and colored plastic and ride.

WRONG. We can plate anything in Washington now neeener neeener. 2 strokes too.

The FE models are California green sticker only. Confirmed by just reading specs published in the Husqvarna motorcycle journal that showed up in the mail a couple of days ago.

Ghostrider, that's a negative, the lineup is devoid of any dual sports, you are not cleared for road use.

No lots of people here (NW) want a plate for jumping from trail to trail etc. I would think it would be a big deal in NJ as many races require it no?

Yeah its a big plus as all enduros in NJ require tags ,However its kinda hit and miss to get tagged on dirt bikes
