    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Are you happy with the stock mirrors?

Assumption might be OK, UNLESS BMW mirror post has been used in TR... BMW mirror thread is different to 'standard' and adapters have to be used. Not a problem, just a nuisance :thumbsup:

Or, maybe, it migh be worth considering separate clamp ? Just to protect throttle/clutch better in case of fall... Thinking hard here...

Also I'm thinking about RAM arm length - longer or shorter one ? Longer gives better visibility but shorter is more compact.
 
The Aprilia Tuono mirrors are sweet looking. Are they any better than the stockers, as far as vibration, overall width, etc?

I was unfortunate to receive a "testicular dislocation" on an adventure ride last June. It hurt. A lot! The injury was a direct result of jambing the mirror into my man bits on the way over the handle bars.

This is my solution. Yes they are vibration free, yes they fold in. And yes the provide unrestricted rear views sans my shoulders. And, no fear of getting up close and personal with my stalks again.

Since the picture was taken I relocated my GPS to the top clamp and my SPOT to the inside of my hand guard bars. No obstructions now accept the windscreen.

Oh...BTW, did I forget to mention my injury hurt? BTW I speak two octaves higher now.

I put Tuono mirrors on mine too. They are actually just a parts bin mirror used on many new model bikes, including various Aprilia, Moto Guzzi and all BMW GS models with the 800cc twin engine, F650GS/F700GS/F800GS. I have a set on my DL1000 as well. They can be sourced from ebay for about $20 each. They are wider than many stock mirrors so you can see around your elbows too.

I got them from Highway Dirt Bikes. They are specific to their hand guards as they are convex on the back so they can pivot up and down and in and out for adjustments. They also completely fold in so you can do single track. The handguard has a corresponding concave circle where the mirrors fit.

I am pretty sure they would work with other handguards though.

KTM Mirrors are nice. A bit prone to shaking, especially with LC4 or LC8 engine ( both are vibrating much).

I've installed mirrors from a Honda XR650L as they have an isolator bushing on the base which helps to reduce vibration. They're relatively cheap & universal. Note - the mirror has a M8x1.25 LHD thread.
