• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

As requested: Husqvarna Cousins

Is this gonna go full circle here cuz I owned a BMW F560ST which was an Aprilia with a Rotax engine which is the same thing as the engine in the Terra/Strada if Im not mistaken.

Well as long as we're talking about our relatives we might remember that Ducati and MV came out of the same stable for quite a few years. I actually think that it's kind of cool that my 610 has the "manufactured by MV-AUGUSTA " sticker on it.

Come to think of it, since Harley bought MV at the same time that they were the principle owner of Buell does that mean that they might be considered cousins "once removed".

Now that we have established the link to Harley and Harley having been the principle owner of Amermichi at one time then that must mean that they would be a second cousin "once removed".

I must be spending too much time on Ancestry.com.:D

Think we are over thinking what is a 'cousin'.

I simply wanted a place where people could choose to Q&A about motorcycles that they thought were related to Husqvarna, as opposed to 'Other Bike' (non-Husqvarna's).

I'm am especially concerned for people new to the site, this site should be easy to use for people who are new i.e. do not want to overwhelm them with choices where to put certain things.

yeah, but you have to admit some of the thinking is profound and insightful and some is,,,, well let's leave that one be
funny how an industry sources from similar parts bins to give us uniquely different rides

On the four stroke single side I need to say IMHO this is where we should go (not too far from the line)

I think the cousin intent needs to be engineering related, Husky Swede design 510TX air cooled dual shock, Std husky single backbone chassis to single shock into 510 liquid cooled motor moved to Italy,
Swede Husaberg engineers that worked the Husky 510 project built the new swede Husaberg 4T completley based on the original husky 510 into an even more austere (light weight) machine,
same time Husky Italia kept on evolving the 510 into 577- 610-630 until END of line, meanwhile KTM buys Husaberg and uses the berg motor for their RFS project which evolved until they stopped RFS production END of line. Beta uses RFS motor until their own design engine Ends that line, last of the RFS 4T motors (Husaberg Se-KTM Au-Beta It). 610 went on and on until that crazy evolved line was dropped.

PS I owned an 1986 single shock chassis Aircooled 510TX and a 1999 TE610 the engine evolution and the single backbone Husky specific chassis similarities are very evident. Anyway thats my take. If not that way then add tabs for all the machine in seperate example swede Husaberg 4t (related) swede Husky aircooled 4stroke swede husky liquid cooled 4t, Italian Husky liqid cooled 4t.
