• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Can anyone out there tell me the ASV levers to use? the cables to use with them and the length of the adjustment screw that will need to be used to make them work?

Sorry guys but I'm leaning away from the stock Magura's.... the purists can shoot me at dawn...:D:D:D

I also have a set of Shorty Sunlines rebuilt but like the hand /function / feel of the ASV

LeftCoast... have you done this? Can you/anyone post up some images of an actual ASV install??

Thanks,

T

HuskyT- very easy to do, they come with 2 sizes of adj screws. you will need to readjust the clutch throw inside the case.

Which ASV lever do I order? I had previously ordered a set and it did not look right and only had a short adjuster screw.

The stock magura has a very long adjuster screw ... maybe .750" usable thread length

Can I use one of Phillips sst braided cables?

Might be a little late, but the Magura split perch levers are that way to go on your bike. They have the proper leverage to get your clutch disengaged when pulled. U can always lenghten the actuator arm on the top of the case if u are unhappy with the pull, but ur dealing with an old race bike that has a typically hard pull. u need Popeye forarms to work the clutch all of the time. Use the clutch to stop and go. Everywhere else just ease off the gas and shift. Husky trannies with those straight cut gears are pretty mucch bullit proof. Doesn't get much stonger. Hang and bang is the way to go. U rn't gonna hurt it. My 2 cents.
