    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Australian pannier rack options and other accessories

Fires are well away from us.. Thankfully. They put 5200km on the bike. So really just worn in.

Went for a quick spin today. Just love it.
 
hey guys i was leaning toward the giant loop great basin but $545 is alot of money considering im a student and just forked out for a new terra, therefore i found this saddle bag option

fits the terra quite nicely however the side pocket corner slightly touches the exhaust... i think its only when its on the kickstand, anyway has no sign of melting from the heat after a long day riding yesterday, seems like a good product for a fifth of the price, capacity wise its not quite as big as the great basin though but i think its 52litre, comes with a built in rain cover aswell. its downfall would probably be its toughness if it came to a crash however im more worried about spending money on some handguards and crashbars in that scenario!

seems like a good one, bit dissapointed that it needs modification when used with the swmotech crash bars, they look awesome, will have to go with the alt rider bars

I've read about the need for modification. Did you get both to try or put off by previous posts .. B& B plate looks serious and offering what is needed. SWM crash bars seem to fit the bill better for simple drops and hopefully wont interfere with the Safari tank which is on my maybe later list...
Just trying to future proof choices.
Lets see Different makes ..Crashbars x 3...Centrestand x 2..Bashplate x 4..==. 24 combinations hmmmm

yeah i remember reading that someone has the B&B and SWM crashbar setup and has made it work, would love to see a photo how it was done, the swm are cheaper however dont know about availability in aus so after postage probably around the same.
 
That was me. Search in the Crash Bars thread, I posted some pics. Basically, if B&B reduced the height of the front of the plate and mounting plate, the SWM bars would bolt straight on
 
I have the SWM bars and love them. I dropped my Terra in a switchback on Sunday and the bar took a hit but saved everything else. I'm sure I'll dump it many more times and I'm confident they're going to be worth what I paid for them. I have the SWM skid plate too so obviously no issues with mounting either.
 
I've just mated the Hepco&Becker rear rack (from M.A.P) with the B&B rear plate. It's a simple drill & bolt job. I love the B&B plate for it's size and the great strap mounting points. The H&B rack has been really solid too but whilst the standard H&B plate is good for top boxes, it's not the best for strapping camping loads.

I have fitted a B & B bash plate SWM bars. Had to trim minimal amount off bash plate & mount. Still used original mount holes.

Great info on panniers, just bought a terra 650 today after mulling it over and getting hooked on all the info on this forum... First bike in Australia since moving here 5 years ago.. Now I understand the panniers I want any hints for bash plates in WA or rest of Aus?
 
Nev, would you recommend the Andy Strapz Panniers for the Terra ? I have mates who know their stuff and recommend them very highly. They look like a good option to me but you say they take up too much seat ?

I also reckon we should hook up for a ride sometime along with any other Melbournites here :thumbsup:

Good to see another Perth-ite. I've got the B&B bash plate & given it a few hits. Very robust & Aust made. PM me if you want to have a look.

Locally you will might pickup a SW Motech bash plate from Motorradgarage in Carlisle.

No, the Andy Strapz gear fits the Terra really well.
