• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I'm looking for the big bearing in 360 auto gearbox ( # 8 in part list: # 16 12 583.01).
Surprisingly, there are 2 big thin bearings in 360 and 1 big large in 390 with the same part number. ( # 16 12 583.01) # 8 for 360 , # 9 for 390.
Do you know where to find some, or have equivalent in industrial bearings ?
Thanks
Michel

Michel,
That wide bearing has the plastic cage and the thin ones have the steel cage. So are you looking for the one with the plastic cage?

Marty

OK I understand now. I only have the steel cage bearing from the 420 and it measures 6.7mm wide. To wide to install 2 of them on the 360. I have only seen the wide plastic cage bearing used on the 360/390. The plastic caged bearing measures 6.5mm wide. What does your steel cage bearing measure in width?

I need to open the bottom end to measure the bearings. My question is also, is it easy to get these parts in a bearings shop and with what # ?

I purchase all my automatic freewheel bearings from GMNUSA. I Think the parent company is in Germany. They probably have those roller bearing. You can do a search by its size on their site

The width of one of two bearing is 5.29 ( Must be 5.25 or 5.30). Do you have the width of a plastic bearing ?
Can I replace 2 steel bearings by a plastic one ?

The plastic one measures 6.5mm wide. I haven't seen that size you have there. Maybe that was used in the military models?

Marty

I've checked parts numbers.
Gearwheels 1,4,7,10 are the same on 76 ,77,78 360 ae.
So I can remplace the 2 steel bearings by the plastic one.
Where can I get this 6.5 mm wide bearing in a shop ?
