• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

B-day coincidence

Happy B Day Bro.

If WetDog was on here, I'm sure there would be a brown thing with a candle in it.:lol:

Yes, I am alive. Dog tired but alive.
My life has been to freakin' busy. I think I've been on CafeHusky 3x since May for about 10 minutes total. I lost count of how many baseball games I coached since then but do know it was 23 games and 11 practices in July alone. A commitment that was extremely rewarding but I'll let someone else do the job next season.
Add in my own kitchen reno where I took it back to the studs and I haven't had many moments to spare but, I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. :applause:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELLY Hope you had a good one.

My day is tomorrow, September 10th. I'll be 44.

Happy birthday to both of you! The date must have been special as there was a big wedding at the hotel (on a Wednesday??) and I saw a different wedding party winding through the streets of SF on my way home from work.

And I was wondering why it was so quiet and peaceful around here since May  We missed you, WetDog :)

BTW, I'm older than both of you so you have to do everything I say:p
(I grew up with 4 older sisters and I heard that all my life!)

Happy birthday! Renovating kitchens is no fun for the people that need to live through that.

I usually nod my head in aggreement when given commands and then proceed to forget them entirely. My wife has gotten to the point that she asks me to assure understanding by repeating her words out loud but I still manage to head off in my own direction within minutes. :excuseme: A tad AADD I guess.

Yep, washing dishes in the bathroom sink wears thin pretty fast but I found drinking out of someone else's dirting glass really isn't that bad. Thankfully the weather was outstanding making living outside easy.

Paper plates, plastic cups, and even disposable utensils worked for me. I hope you get the kitchen functional before the weather turns cold. It is getting close to mid-September.

The wife holds a high rank in the Eco-Police so plastic and disposable don't really come through our front door. We are very near completion and living in the kitchen again. Having the sink functional was a great day but the dishwasher install was the real celebration.:banana:
