  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc BAHH HELP! I can't decide. Sell or Don't Sell....

I have the option to buy a 2012 CR 125 with 144 kit uninstalled for $2600 - just looked at it today. 7 months off the showroom floor. It runs good - very crisp, no problems as far as I could tell. It could use cleaned up a bit - but it can't be that bad seeing as how it only has about 30 hours on it.The guy is selling simply because he needs money. It really looks like a steal.

So I guess you didn't like it, or you're just trying to make $1400 on the deal?

I'm just frustrated with the non-committal buyers for my YZ. if it was sold, I would keep the Husky without a doubt. Financial situation is tough, but I couldn't pass up the CR.

I've thought about for a few days after posting that, I think I'm going to take it down.

dam i was going to say keep the yz better the devil you know, freshen up wth re valve and new boots they are robust and bullet proof, spares are cheap as most people have one in their shed still. BUT if youve sold it an already bought the husky... your going to cream use it stock as mentioned then in 7 or 14k chop the top end with 144 kit you will be riding it like a 125 but with a little more fire under you.

I hear you - haha. The devil I don't know is only 7 months old, so I'm hoping that means I can trust it. So far so good... Just needs normal stuff like oil change, air filter cleaning, etc.

By the way - I cleaned the whole bike up yesterday with a toothbrush and degreaser. The engine/wheels/shock linkage/etc. looks absolutely brand new. It's beautiful! I've never had a bike that was under 5 years old!

However, I did panic for a second - I started the bike after cleaning it, and it backfired on the first kick. 2nd kick - started up and idled/revved fine. I think I just got some water in the carb. Shouldn't be a concern now, right?
