As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
ya, those guysMoose, EE & MSR are all made by the same company.
What I have found with Cyrcas. For tight stuff they SUCK!!! The way they bend out is HORRIBLE. Yes good room for all your stuff. I have tried to sets over the past with the same results. BAD. hitting stuff I NEVER hit with Enduro Enginering hanguards. Everyone can arque if they want, but hey I'm tough on my stuff and proper hanguards that do NOT interfere with trees are critical!!! At least for the tight stuff, and remember one guys definition of tight stuff can be alot different then someone elses. You made a great choice!!!
I e (even modified them and pulled them way in with still BAD results! They clear everything well, and are quality built, however if they do not work, yea who cares! The EE WORK GREAT! And in going through the woods back to back 2 bikes same bars I hit everything with the Cycras and not much of anything with the EE. CASE CLOSED! I'm to old to!I agree with you, I tried Another companies and thought they looked beautiful. I caught a tree that I felt I should have grazed off of and almost broke my leg. I just like ones that are more rounded on the ends. Pros and everyone else seem to ride with them well but I like the Moose/MSR/EE ones myself. Too old to change now.
Acerbis make great guards, but they are a little expensive on this side of the Atlantic compared to the Moose/MSR/EE... I have a nice set of Acerb's on my SM-610You should try Acerbis handguards, they are really good. i have used them for about 6 or 7 years now, and i can tell you that they can really take a good beating.
I have never bent or destroyed one of those handguards.
I know that they are expensive, but you have to pay for quality. Here in Norway they cost over 200 usd, but then again 1 gallon of gasoline costs over 10 usd. And one quarter of fully syntetic two stroke oil cost 48 usd.Acerbis make great guards, but they are a little expensive on this side of the Atlantic compared to the Moose/MSR/EE... If i want to buy a new te 511 i would have to pay close to 22000 usd for it if i want to have it plated for road use, what would you have to spend on the same bike?damn man thats pricey
3.49 USD today.... most of your price is tax as Norway has big oil, right? What does one gallon of gasoline cost in the us?
The Acerbis are nice, but if you can tear apart these bark busters, more power to you cause I've seen my bike do cart-wheels & the only thing that didn't get tweaked was the hand-guardsI know that they are expensive, but you have to pay for quality. That is right, over 50% of the total amount is tax. Norway is the 11th biggest oil producing country in the world.3.49 USD today.... most of your price is tax as Norway has big oil, right?
Dont you need a license plate if you want to use your bike on the road.ouch bud, sticker on a 2011 te511 from the local boys is 8299. no idea what itd be for the plates and stuff for a bike.
for sure to ride legally, us out here in the rual parts tend to get away with a lil bit of pavement use to get from house to trail without to much hassel but yes you need plates to cruise on the road. i dont have plates on mine so im not sure what they cost here.Dont you need a license plate if you want to use your bike on the road.
The government is so greedy over here, at least 50 or 60% of it is only tax.i dotn understand why you pay so much being a "big" oil producer?
