• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Anyone have bearing numbers for the steering head on a 83 XC-500? I'm looking for regular bearing numbers that I can get at my local industrial supply. Thanks Scott

Timken race is part #L44610. The bearing is L44600LA 902A1. Need two of each. Your local bearing shop will have them both. Got mine local.

Husq Fleet... I changed your thread title for future people looking fo rthe same thing....

Thanks, I'll see what I can find tomm. Best I can tell, they are really rusty, is there a seal attached to the bearing?

Yes, there is a seal on the bearing. When assembled in the head and against the race, it seals off the steering head tube.

48300-60 is the Harley-Davidson part#. these will work in a pinch. they do not have seals attached, but Harley makes a tin dust shield that works also.

Does the Timken come with the seals as well? I'm hoping to see decent pricing on the Timken bearing and race X2 for top and bottom.

My local Napa was able to find them under the BCA brand, $42.00 for the pair, no shipping, with the seals attached. I'll let you know for sure when they come in. Scott

I just ordered from Applied Industrial 951 371 2550 Corona, California

Timken bearings with seals and races

$24.31 each (with seal) + $6.89 per race .. roughly $62 for complete 2x set

Thanks for the PN#s****************************************! (same bearings on 1980 CR390)

Just got my bearings today from Napa, $21.00 each- cup/cone/seal. Bought six, for all three bikes. Thanks for your help, Scott. BTW- been parting out a 87-430XC, those bearings felt fine-not rough, when I tore it down the bottom one was a glob of rust and had almost rusted steering stem in two? That would of hurt.
