• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Been kinda quite here, so

Nice day in the low 80's with low humidity but the pollen is bad. I want to ride but with pollen the way it is I would be more miserable than I already am. Come on fall.

Every year for the last 30 years I have spent a month or two in western North Carolina camping, riding and fishing. My heart aches for the people of the area. It hurts to see pics and vids of destruction especially when I know what used to be there. If you can help please do. I've dealt with major flooding before due to hurricanes but never on this scale and with places so remote and hard to get to even in the best of times.

Got a new battery and the bike fired right up. Not going to get to ride, leaving tomorrow for a week to visit family. Not happy but it is what it is.

Peace

Man, you need to get out and ride even if its by yourself. By the sound of your last 5 posts you're going to need antidepressants if you don't get out and twist some throttle! Even if its for 15 - 30mins. I can't ride much more than that any longer without being tuckered out but I still get out a couple of times a year. They talk about runners high being great, well it doesn't hold a candle to a bike riding high.

The weather warmed up enough today for a ride. Was going to be a short ride but after stopping for gas I ended up taking the long way home. It was a good day.
Peace

I had a disc made to my specs by HPS, bikehps.com, a company in England. When I changed my forks out to ones off a DRZ400sm along with the brake caliper I needed a larger diameter rotor.
