• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I got tired of looking like a dumbass. This mod is just a simple one that has profound effects.

2 Philmore DC Buzzers No b812 12vdc 15ma 75dB

So just pull the front panel 4 screws and you have access to do the job. Find the wires that come from the blinkers, should be blue and brown. The blue probably has a stripe. skin of some of the insulation for the buzzer to sister in. Insulate and tape connections. Fasten buzzer. That easy.

This is the buzzer

Front panel positioning of installed buzzers. I used velcro to fasten them easy fast and removable.

After splicing and soldering connections, brushed the wires with liquid tap. Did not cut wires, just trim back. Also installed on the blinker side of the connection, so it is reversible if need be. RED positive lead to blue of bike. It will not work the other way.

After liquid tape I wrapped with electrical tape and secured that with zip ties to keep the tape from unraveling.

Tools used besides standard Terra Torx.

Funny, eh?

Here's the "best mod ever"....and we can't get rid of the bloody beepers fast enough when buying one of those Aussie Post CT110 delivery bikes
at the surplus auctions, which have those things standard-fitted.
Most probably got a handful of Honda buzzers still floating around in the garage...free to who ever wants 'em.

Best mod ever, bit over hyped lol but if you leave your blinkers on yup you look stooooooopid.
I remove the blinkers as law here in uk allows use of motorised bicycles with out indicators too be legal at night aswell as in the day.
Best mod i did lectron, then cutting bars down.

Good tip to all roadies out there.

My Honda scooter has nice audible. I have a feeling this is going to make it so I pull the blinkers as well. It is a weight savings you know. I have them pulled on my smaller bike, but wanted to give something a try. Just too dang embarrassing seeing the blinker light on after 2 miles since last turn.

I may just use my hand signals to avoid the beeps. Then blinkers be gone.

Anybody else may like the idea and find a less obnoxious tone.

Glad some of you find the humor in the title :D Prove me wrong, show me your better mod :p
