• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Black Plastic...Sources?

Thanks for the responses.

I have heard the plastics at motoplasticsus are not as good quality as the OEM. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I bought a full set of new plastics about 6 months ago. The color was right on. They are just as thick. Fit perfect. Great glossy finish. I have no issues with them. The only thing i have ever heard was that the Radiator Conveyors in red didnt match the red on the shrouds. They were more of a pink color.

I cannot comment on the red, but the blue is darker than stock blue. As long as you don't mix and match with stock parts of the same color, it's no big deal. Quality was just fine.

As mentioned, the colour is NOT the same as stock if you only need one or 2 pieces.

The black stuff that I have seen, did not have a good shine, it was almost a flat black finish.

Be forewarned, the black looks good the day it is new, but after the first ride, your bike looks like it has been through the ringer.

I ended up buying 2 front plates from them. I thought the front plate was a little brittle...Ok maybe it was the tree I hit.... They are definetly quick with shipping parts. :applause:

Just got my black front and rear fenders from motoplastics today. They're Cemoto brand and well, black. Blacker or not as black as stock, can't really say. Not cracked in half like my current OEM front fender, so that's a plus. The way I ride, it won't matter after 2 rides. Not taking it to a bike show........just riding.
