  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Black wheels

I was thinking about a new muffler? Like the FMF quite, or something equivelant. The guy I bought the bike from did something to it so it seems to be louder than an 08 (or 09?)I saw on the trail last summer. I like to chug my bike in 2nd gear on the trails so more power at the begining of the throttle would be nice!!

I have already put new sprockets on to help with this, which it did!

Excellent! More power is a good! HairlessKittys '08 TE 250 woke right up with the 310 (300cc) kit. Granted it needed an adjustment or two with iBeat, but it is a world of fun. She has stock gearing and the Arrow pipe ('08 p/u kit). It throttle wheelied in 2nd and 3rd with my ~225 lbs + backpack on. Not just little tire lifters either, nice tire to the sky wheelies. 4th gear idk, maybe, but I was going pretty fast by then. I have only ridden her bike a few times as I know she misses it when shes not on it. It still chugs along great but has power when you want it.

dont be suprised if you have to buy new spoke kits for both your wheels. used spokes dont always want to come all the way apart and back together again. buy a good spoke wrench before you start. trueing them isnt very hard if you take your time and stay calm lol.
