• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

If you want to go for a rip Kelly let me know, there is a 630mile loop in Eastern Or that is a fun day ride. A lot of canyons.

Sounds great, let me know when.

K100

Hi Kelly I had an 86 and it was one of the best bikes I ever owned.I did 1 trip with my wife 2 up and spent about 9 hours on the bike. They are quite smooth and will run all day at FAST SPEEDS with no problems. The only thing I didn't like was if you left them on the side stand for an extended period of time they smoked when started as a result of a minimal amount of oil seeping past the rings which cleared up as soon as you rode the bike, not an issue.I now have one of the decendants 02K1200RS and am happy with this also. These are somewhat strange as compared to the rest of the brands but very reliable if the routine maintenance is performed as indicated. ENJOY as far as I know the one I sold is still going today

If you're ever after a muffler for the K100, I've a brand new Staintune muffler here that never got used, after I sold a few bikes to raise some business capital. It's a round section muffler, with semi sports internals. By No means is it loud / like a jap 4:1 sound, just makes it sound like a MC, and not a sewing machine. All stainless construction, uses the std headers, much lighter, beautiful quality - most who have been around bikes for a while will know of Staintune. I think the K100 mufflers are no longer made by Staintune.

I've also got a pair of sports internals, R100, 38mm Staintune pipes.

I've just never got around to unearthing them fro the back of my workshop. I need to learn the ins and outs of EBay, as I've got so much stuff from projects ( things like entire pairs of brand new Pantah 600 heads , starter clutches, regulators, gearboxes etc, etc - I make TT2/TT1 and various other frames, Alloy tanks, along with my bicycle frames). Too much of a pack rat, like most of us bike riders , I guess.

I was just searching the internet and came across your message for a Staintune muffler for a K100. I know your message is old but do you still have the muffler? Thanks from Cleveland Ohio.
