• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Bought an 82 WR240

Husqvarna
AA Class
Well, I broke down and made a deal with a guy to take his 82 WR240 on trade for a new TE450.

I always wanted a vintage Husky. The best part about this one is that it actually runs and the guy who I am getting it from is the original owner!! He has all the books and the original sales contract.

It needs a seat cover and has a pretty good dent in the tank. Otherwise it is pretty good. He actually rides it fairly regularly.

I am looking forward to pulling it out of my trailer someday and actually riding it!

Pics coming soon.

I cant wait to see the pictures. The only 240 I have seen was a 83. Were the 240cc bikes Europe only, or should I say Non-USA bikes. I remember someone saying they made the 240cc bikes due to some European regulation. if anyone knows the history of these bikes please let us know.

And I thought the 240 was a typo? I don't remember them, but I was kind of out of dirt bikes through those years.

I don't know what the reg was for 240's. Funny thing is.... 2nd overbore on the 250 is the same as 3rd on the 240.:D.

It was a 240, but the guy just put a new piston in it and it is a 250 now.

Maybe the 240 was just a Canada thing?

It isnt perfect, but there is a bike there.

I get it on Wed. I will post some pics then.

Here she is. Old and new Husky in one picture.

Very nice. Great looking vintage Husky. Loved the red and gold colors of that era. Sexiest bike on the market back then.
