• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Brother build.. 1986125xc/74 450cr

Found one that looks like an exact replacement.. by bore size anyways.. same diameter, and length.. can any of you tell me the spark plug size I would need for this bike..

I think champion n2c will work as well.... If my memory serves me right anyways... But there is chance I'm incorrect.

I got nothing against champions. My dad used to only run champion in all the old huskies and never had any issue. I had in my bikes when I was younger and never had a problem. It's all about what you prefer I guess. As long as it sparks I'll run it but b8es are the most readily available by far and every bike I have besides the 15 te300 and my 77 xr75 use them.

I would prefer Bosch or NGK over Champion but I'll run a Champion without too much thought. Like 87husky500xc said, as long as it sparks...

as long as your jetting is well sorted, a spark plug should last till it becomes visible worn out. I have the same plug in my 400 that I replaced when I restoed it in 2011. I once (1unce only) replaced a plug with a new one before a big event (years ago) and the bloody thing was a dud. had to throw the old one back in on the start line. never again if it works and its not too rounded on the electrode its good to go.

champions quality has slowly dropped over the years. i just dont care for them compared to other brands as im never in dire need of plugs.

measure the wrist pin to top of piston
that is critical

Yea the namura piston didn't work, bore size was right, but the wrist pin was wrong.. found a used one for a decent price.. can anyone show pictures of how the radiator hoses connect, mainly exhaust side but a picture of both would be appreciated..

I purchased a complete '85 125cr and two parts bike a '85/'86 125cr's. Between the three bikes I made the '85 cr run again. I mic'd the used pistons and cylinders and put the ones together that measured the closest. Frankenstein 125cr ran great. I wonder if eBay has the parts.
