• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

can i do that

No...would not improve anything or work correctly without a mod to mount it correctly....waste of time and money imho

well Rick Horvat said that he was thinking that the hose fitting was in the front left and that water comes out the top of the radiators down right on top of the exhaust port and out the back of the jug WTH anybuddy know the coolant path turning the head seems like the way to go but the pump sucking water from the top of the rads seems way wrong if not impossible far as i know every cooling system i'v ever dealt with [ on cars] the pump draws from the bottom of the rads the parts fiche shows it like it is BUT i have had factory husky drawings be WRONG just one gear in a 79 WR trans but it sure locked up tight before the case halves touch :excuseme:

the water pump draws off the bottom of the radiators

post up a pix of the plumbing at your pump cuz lessin i got hit in the head real hard im callin BS

look at the fiche the lower hoses run to the water pump then from the pump to the back of the cylinder
the return is the head to the top of the radiators
all engines pull from the bottom including cars

Take a very close look at your water pump. It works like a centrifuge. The hose connected so that it supplies water to the middle of the pump is the "from" hose, the hose connected to the side is the "to" hose. As the impeller spins, the mass of the fluid drives it out from the center propelling it out from the 'from' hose and into the 'to' hose.

If you want to see a picture of a pump set up to pump water from the bottom of the cylinder, look at my first picture in the thread "Another WRX saved from the scrap heap". Also, if you really want to reverse the flow of water in your bike, just hook up your hoses like you see in that picture.

ok i looked my hoses are reversed from that pix the impeller spins counter clockwise right ? that would have mine suckin water in from the back of the jug dang i dont have all here in front for me here to look at but that OE hose that go's from the jug to the pump is sure shaped to go to the nipple that is to the inside and forward :banghead:
