  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Chain guard with 52 sprocket

Will the stock chain guard work with a Supersprox Stealth 52 rear or do I need to order a replacement? 2010 TE310. Thanks

That entirely depends on your chain length and your other sprocket as that determins how far the axle/and sprocket is from the chain guard and the front of the swingarm. You could add a few links and resolve that. I do know also that the TM Designs chainguard does allow slightly more room there as you suggested- but its just a small ammount more clearence. If you ordered a new chain get one that is a little longer than stock. I believe stock is 112. I am running 13 and 14 with a 50 and 114 links- my axel is close to the stock position. It worked with the stock and the tm designs- but NOT with the stock chain length-
hope that helps

Thanks. Thats exactly the info I needed. I ordered a new chain and did not know if I needed to order a guard as well. Do you like the TM Designs chainguard?

Yes I like the TM Designs set up, I think the BMP would be nice as well. I just happened to be making an order with Zipty racing and since they sell the TM Designs guard that's the one I bought. I did bend my stock one and the inner plastic was worn and wearing through the plastic and aluminum- it was time to replace.

I put the new chain on today. RK racing 114 links. The rivets in the Supersprox Stealth clear the chain guard now. The new chain seems a little wider than the original and rubs the inside of the stock guard but I'm sure it will wear in. The new set up moved the axel about half inch farther back. At 2 1/2 marks instead of 4. Will be interested if this solves the head shake it has at highway speed. The new gearing seems perfect. Low but not constrained. I can't wait to try it in the desert.

I just installed a 52 stealth on my '10 tc250. I elongated the second hole(rear) to drop the rear of the guide down a little and it seems to give enough clearance, yard tested only at this point though. Went from a non o-ring to an x-ring and it is having to cut a wider groove.

Looks like the TC fell into the right hands. Take care of our baby!

You bet! It has been carefully cleaned, waxed, new layer of carbon fiber on pipe gaurd, new tires, and the above mentioned gearing change. First ride is tomorrow, very technical single track so I am jumping in with both feet. Still has your numbers on it, hope to change that soon out of respect for you and Cody.
Oh yea, starts first kick pretty much every time, think you have it jetted well. also I think I have always kicked 2- strokes 4-stroke style.
